First Grade

At REDS we believe in "Can Do Kids", so we start at an early age helping them develop independence while learning how to follow a simple routine.

Our first grade students are encouraged to wonder, explore, and communicate their thinking through morning inquiry and integrated STEAM activities.

Students engage with community experts to learn their job roles and responsibilities and then use that knowledge to create, teach, and serve.

Confidence is grown by drawing attention to each child's talents and by giving students a voice and choice in their learning.

Through individualized, guided instruction, students develop strong reading and number sense and are able to apply these skills to their world.

The First Grade program meets 8:30-3:00 Monday through Friday.

Preference is given to those children who turn 6 by September 30 of the year enrolled.
